Discover a multi-talent: Luigi Russolo
The Italian painter was born in 1885 in Veneto. His interest in music was related to noise early on. As a composer he was also interested in the noise of the big city, the car, modern machines. Russolo put his findings down to theoretical writings. These futuristic points of view can also be recognized in his painting. Consider "automobile in Corsa". The car as a form can only be guessed. However, what you realize at first glance is the speed and "sound" of the passing car. Here the painter implements the movement of a machine, in this case the car. Decomposed into edgy, geometric forms of red, yellow, blue and purple you immediately capture the movement from right to left.
Give your room dynamics
At weewado, you buy paintings that look good on any wall as a framed copy of famous paintings. Because your canvas picture must bring all the colors to shine! Take a closer look at the work "The Revolt". Here, too, Russolo disassembles movement into geometric forms, whereby people in red as well as blue, green and yellow house facades with dark windows remain recognizable. However, the artist subordinates people and houses to dynamic forms. They are practically part of the movement, the pushing forward, the red lines that jaggedly cover the whole canvas like a grid.
Order famous art beyond age masters
Futurism is linked to the beginning of the industrial age. In Russia, people even painted porcelain in this way, which always expresses a sense of life, the beginning of something new. In "Movements of a Woman" Russolo dissects a figure into several figures, lets them step like soldiers in a row. For this purpose, the artist uses a beautiful, bright blue, which becomes brighter and more transparent towards the back. He underlines the movement given by round and angular shapes. Here no individual person is portrayed, rather a prototype, who could also be a man.
Canvas picture with suction effect
Everything that had to do with energy and dynamics interested the futuristic artist. "Kraflinien - power of lightning" is a good example. Luigi Russolo chooses a perspective, as if you were sitting in a well and looking into the sky. Geometric shapes are arranged in a circle in dark shades. However, the main focus is on the sky flickered by lightning. Unlike realistic painters, the Futurist approaches the force of nature with delicate, almost lovely colors. These are light and in no way threatening. Two blue framed white flashes are the focal point; they remind of the natural course of rivers in a lovely landscape.
These pictures call for a look
Futuristic pictures are demanding and draw the viewer into the picture. "Memories of a Night" is a cryptic work with great charisma. What does the artist want to convey to us? A stooping figure sneaks through the night, in the right foreground of the picture are men's heads, who pay homage to the lovely profile of a woman. A horse that seems to grow out of her head is reminiscent of fairytale motifs, while on the left the moon unfolds its power of attraction and radiance.
